The Concise Biography of Nicholas Bredimus — a Remarkable Designer & Inventor

Have you ever noticed how the countless developments in information technology have heavily redefined hospitality and air travel recently? Behind all of this is New Jersey’s own Nicholas Bredimus. His career highlights include time-saving software, airplane safety enhancements, and he’s even involved in designing upmarket houses.

You could have predicted, mind you, that given his heritage he was certain to rise to prominence. With roots back to classical times, in fact Nicholas’ ancestry ties in with multiple countries within Europe. From his mother’s branch, on the one hand, he hails from German and Scottish bloodlines. An equivalently unusual mingling typifies the paternal branch — before their emigration in the late 1800s, the family dwelt in England and Luxembourg.

After arriving in America, they still worked hard to rise to the top. Nicholas, who would grow up with his six siblings, was born to a father who worked as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who was a practicing nurse. He would live much of his life in towns across several states — Virginia, Missouri, Texas and Arizona.

What did Bredimus do to capitalize on his upbringing and studies? He would soon embark on a string of respected jobs, each as part of big airlines. Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA), Republic Airlines — these airlines would all at different times respectively name him as a Vice President. Most notable, even considering this, was his time as an inspired programmer for the airlines. His trailblazing work on airplane maintenance software, now commonplace throughout the airline business while originally produced for US Airways, ultimately resulted in what is still his most popular piece. He turned his creativity next to recording and taking bookings. For both hotels and air travel he pioneered software to take on much of the work that had been involved prior to automation. He went on to develop QuikTix, an electronic ticket sales network. Regardless the fact that it is definitely his strong suit, Bredimus frequently worked on other areas. He worked as manager for American Express’ renowned IT department, set up Bredimus Systems in the early nineties, and became the founding president of AMR Travel Services. Right now, though, Bredimus has stepped back from his airline connections and from coding, although he’s still making the most of his mind. His interest now is with the architectural matters bound up in the emergence of environmentally safe, high tech luxurious homes. The tireless spirit we have noted just refuses to be curbed!
