Dental Crowns - in 60 Seconds for under $110?

Posted in Cosmetics & Beauty, School of Health at 11:34 am by admin

You’re researching dental crowns on the World Wide Web and have discovered that they’re going to cost you more than the car you drive. Suddenly, you see an ad on a web site: “Crowns in under a minute: $109.95 each!”

Too good to be true?
Not necessarily, if you understand that what is being offered here is a temporary “quick fix” - and its being marketed to dental professionals, not consumers.

When you go in for dental crowns, it is important to understand that you will be undergoing a multi-step process that will require two visits. At the end of the first visit, your dentist will place temporary dental crowns that will allow you to eat in a (reasonably) normal fashion until the off-site laboratory has had an opportunity to make the permanent ones - which can take up to three weeks. (The exception here is if your dentist works at a full-service facility with its own lab on-site -but such facilities are exceedingly rare.)

Centrix Dental is just one of many companies that market supplies to the dental profession, and their line of temporary crown and bridge materials are only one of thousands of such products. Your dentist may use Centrix products, or those from another company, according to his/her preferences, budget, and any relationship his/her practice may have with the company.

If you enter the term “dental crowns” into your favorite search engine, you may also bring up an advertisement for “Lumineers.” These are not dental crowns, but rather a brand of veneers. Veneers are similar to dental crowns in that they fit over the surface of the patient’s natural teeth - however, whereas dental crowns are like caps that fit over the entire tooth, a veneer is just that - a sheet of ceramic material that is applied to the outside of a tooth.

There is no “brand” of dental crowns that are necessarily better or worse than others, although naturally, an ethical dentist who genuinely focuses on his/her patient’s best interests will use what s/he considers to be materials of the highest quality. What does make a difference in any dental procedure is the dentist’s level of skill and training. The unfortunate fact about some companies that offer “instant” dental solutions is that they are more about marketing than patient well being. They build up an image for their products that creates public brand recognition, then offer these products to dentists in exchange for a fee. These companies also offer weekend training seminars (usually no more than marketing presentations) that qualify dentists to market themselves as “Brand X Dentists!”

We cannot stress this enough - any cosmetic procedure, whether its the placement of dental crowns, veneers, or any other type of cosmetic dentistry - requires extensive study and training, and cannot be learned in a weekend.

The History of the Vacuum Cleaner: Perfection has taken a bit of time!

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:32 pm by admin

The first vacuum cleaner is thought to have been created in the United States, in the mid 1800’s. Today, the vacuum cleaner is found in just about every household in the world! It is depended upon to keep carpets and other floors clean and free of dirt/debris. In the time of the first vacuum cleaner, however, things were much more different!

Since the beginning of time, we have found some way to personalize and accessorize out living environment. For the most part, rugs and carpeting have been the number one choice to hide and protect original flooring. How do you think that those rugs were cleaned in the old days? There were no motorized vacuums, so the “Spring Cleaning” time was used to remove all of the rugs so that they could be shaken and beaten. Usually, the housekeeper or homeowner would use a metal or wooden rod to beat out the dust and dirt, and then the rugs would be left to air out.

Today, however, many of us have become accustomed to using a motorized vacuum cleaner to do all of the hard work for us! The motorized vacuum came to us about 1907 and has undergone major improvements and modifications to become the vacuum that we use today!

Now, there are many, many vacuum cleaner manufacturers on the market. There are a ton of different vacuum models, sizes, colors and prices associated with a vacuum cleaner. There are many different styles, including: upright, canister, shop, handheld, cordless, bagged, bangles, and even outdoor vacuums! No matter what you needs your vacuum will be required to meet, there’s a vacuum that is perfect for you! Shop online to find the largest selection and best prices of vacuum cleaners available!

iPod vs. Velcro — Battle of the Super Products

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:18 pm by admin

I’m a sucker for a good battle. Not an all-out war, mind you — just a good tow-to-tow, one-on-one slugfest. Think Holyfield vs. Tyson, Alien vs. Predator, or Ashley Simpson vs. anyone with ears.

I’m also a sucker for ingenious products. So in the spirit of combining these passions, I’m acting as the Don King of products to put the Apple iPod up against Velcro, for the title of All-Time Super Product.

Category 1 - Impact on Other Industries

Once it was released, Velcro had clothing manufacturers scrambling to try it out. This led to the creation of Velcro flies, Velcro pocket fasteners, and, of course, the Velcro shoe fasteners you still see children wearing today. Other industries adopted the product as well.

But the iPod has touched a greater number of industries in a shorter time. Just type “ipod products” into any major search engine, and you’ll see what I mean.

Electronics companies like Bose have developed iPod docking stations, speakers and other peripherals. Clothing manufacturers have created iPod pockets in some of their garments. Even car manufacturers have jumped on the train. And then there’s the media impact the iPod has had — “podcast” anyone?

** Point goes to the iPod **

Category 2 - Memorable Features A product with memorable features will succeed for a number of reasons. Shoppers are more inclined to remember it, recognize it, and relate it to others in casual conversation. This leads to buzz, “mindshare,” popularity and profit.

iPod enjoys a great product name — catchy and easy to remember. It also has a memorable look and feel.

Velcro, on the other hand, has never been duplicated, and so it enjoys complete uniqueness in the mind of consumers. The sound alone is one of the most memorable product features of all time. Open a Velcro fastener, and that sound will be recognized anywhere in the civilized world.

** Point goes to Velcro **

Category 3 - Inventiveness

The iPod has partly evolved from MP3 players, and from walkmans before that. Velcro, on the other hand, was adopted from nature.

George de Mestral got the idea for Velcro while walking his dog through a Swiss meadow in 1948. He and the dog returned home covered with burrs, those prickly plant husks that cling to animal fur as a means of seed distribution.

Intrigued by the seed sacs, Mestral examined them under a microscope. There he found the secret to their clinging power — a series of hook-and-loop fasteners.

Mestral took an idea from the plant world and turned it into a viable product that became a multi-million-dollar industry.

** Point goes to Velcro **

Category 4 - Marketing

George de Mestral overcame a lot of skepticism with his hook-and-loop fastener. He said it would rival the zipper, and people laughed. When it actually did rival the zipper, he sold it as fast as he could produce it — a marketing success story, to say the least.

Apple kept the iPod shrouded in secrecy during its development, and released it amid a flurry of media attention. Within days, every person in every industrial nation had at least heard of the iPod, if not actually seen or purchased one.

** Point goes to the iPod **

Category 5 - Longevity

Perhaps longevity is an unfair category, given the iPod’s young age. But I’m the Don King of product battles here, and I say it goes. To be fair, we can revisit this category down the road a decade or two (to see if the iPod is still around).

But for now, it’s an easy point for Velcro, having endured for nearly 50 years with no end to its popularity in site.

** Point goes to Velcro **

Category 6 - Cultural Impact

Velcro changed the way we think about fasteners. But are fasteners part of our culture? Granted, Velcro enjoyed a brief cultural thrust when some parenting groups argued it would lower the intelligence of children (letting them “get off easy” by not having to tie their shoes). But that’s about it.

The Apple iPod, on the other hand, has changed the way we think of music and mobility. And those things are definitely a part of our culture.

** Point goes to the iPod **

The Results Are In - It’s a Tie!

If you were expecting a lopsided victory, I’m sorry to disappoint. Both products have had a major impact on the world around them. So they share the title of All-Time Super Product. And maybe they’re not meant to compete anyway. Maybe they’re meant to live in harmony and complement one another.

Take those jogger’s armbands for example. Velcro holds the armband firmly in place, and the armband holds the iPod firmly in place. The end result is a more enjoyable experience for the jogger.

And if that’s not harmony, I don’t know what is.

The NSTP (Non - Spatial Thinking Process) Theory as a Masterkey : Non - Spatial Universal Mechanics

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:56 am by admin

The NSTP ( Non - Spatial Thinking Process ) theory, a published invention (2002) of Kedar Joshi ( b. 1979 ) (i.e.Myself), a Cambridge ( England ) based philosopher, is a position that, in computer terminology, regards Universe as a Non - Spatial Computer and Space as a Virtual Reality (UNSCSVR). This model of reality can resolve the mysteries surrounding quantum mechanics ( e.g. the wave - particle duality, the EPR ( Einstein - Podolsky - Rosen ) paradox, the Schrodinger’s cat paradox ), Zeno’s paradoxes, the biological phenomena of ‘protein folding’ and ‘cell development and differentiation’, relativity, action at a distance ( which is a rehabilitated mystery through Joshi’s work ), etc. All these mysterious phenomena are, in fact, multiple aspects of a singular underlying structure, composed of four conceptual elements : 1.impossibility of spatial mechanism 2.space as a form of illusion 3.phenomenal mind as non - spatial 4.intelligent orderly execution of spatial events through non - spatial mechanism

The NSTP theory is the unique theoretical representation of that structure. The NSTP theory is a philosophical / scientific masterkey that unifies apparently diverse phenomena through its powerful non - spatial mechanical framework.

The NSTP theory is based on

A] Three axioms ( i.e. self - evident truths ) :

(One’s objection that these propositions are not axiomatic is nothing but one’s inability to perceive the truth. These propositions are clearly axiomatic to the author.)

1) Phenomenal mind ( or feelings or qualia ) is non - spatial. i.e. No kind of feeling, e.g. feeling of colour blue, can be represented by any spatial structure.

2) All kinds of experiences, even thoughts I know I am having, are feelings or qualias.

3) A phenomenally conscious self is a temporal stream of non - spatial phenomenal mental events. ( A Non - Spatial Thinking Process (NSTP), as every feeling is itself a thought or idea. )

B] And two hypotheses :

1) Space ( as a room or void out there : whether three or higher dimensional, bounded or unbounded ) is a virtual reality ( i.e. a form or projection of non - spatial mind, a kind of feeling ).

2) Individual or local NSTPs are orderly ( or thoughtfully ) executed by a gigantic, central, or global NSTP ( rather a group of NSTPs ), representing superhuman thoughts or ideas, in order to account for the order in the universe, e.g. the gravitational phenomenon. ( The central non - spatial superhuman thoughts are processed in zero time because of no spatial limitations; e.g. in space it takes time to transfer data from one spatial location to another. Although a conscious human is nothing but an NSTP it is, at least partially, conceptually, as opposed to physically, bound to the spatial biochemical brain, and thus the core NSTPs introduce time lag in processing of individual NSTPs, where appropriate. )

Further, the existence of the central NSTPs is assumed for two reasons :

i) In any machine where its peripherals are not intelligent enough to modulate ( or be able to account for ) their own behaviour there has to be some central intelligent part in the machine to bring out the peripheral happenings or phenomena.

ii) As the laws of physics ( or any other than those of pure mathematics or logic ) are not logically or conceptually necessary there has to be a way to change the ways individual NSTPs are generated ( or produced or executed ). And for that to be possible there has to be some central intelligence existing in the form of ( non - spatial ) mental events, which itself could be modulated to alter the modulation of individual NSTPs.

Thus, in computer terminology, in the NSTP model of reality the hardware of the universe is composed of non - spatial feelings, while its central software is made of superhuman thoughts, and the peripheral software is made of non - superhuman ones.

Now take for instance the EPR paradox or some equivalent mysterious experimental quantum phenomenon ( e.g. In 1997 experiments were conducted in which light particles ( photons ) originated under certain conditions and travelled in opposite directions to detectors located about seven miles apart. The amazing results indicated that the photons interacted or communicated with one another instantly or in no time. See Robert Nadeau, and Menas Kafatos, 1999. The non - local universe. 1st ed. Oxford : OUP. Back page. ). According to the NSTP theory this is no longer a mystery as the behaviour of photons is just a form of illusion, a virtual reality ( to non - spatial mind/s ) which is actually modulated ( or orderly executed ) by hidden / core non - spatial superhuman mental events. ( Again in analogy with spatial desktop computers such a photonic behaviour on the computer monitor screen has no slightest mystery surrounding it, as it is just a changing pattern of pixels which is modulated by some hidden software processes. )

The NSTP theory maintains both idealism ( as reality is exclusively mental ) and realism ( as the material entities we see out there do have a real existence in the core central non - spatial mind/s, which would exist independent of any other mind perceiving them ), and both mentalism ( as reality is exclusively mental ) and materialism ( as mind is real, it is physical / material ).

‘Philosophy is written in this grand book - I mean the universe - which stands continually open to our gaze, but it cannot be understood unless one first learns to comprehend the language and interpret the characters in which it is written. It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles, and other geometric figures, without which it is humanly impossible to understand a single word of it.’ - Galileo Galilei

In reality the universe has no geometry. - Kedar Joshi The Superultramodern Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica : The Foundations of Superultramodern Physics, Mathematical Science, and Philosophy.

Most of the mysteries of the universe are out of the human belief that any mechanism has to be spatial. In reality the mechanism of the universe is non - spatial, whose appropriate understanding shall resolve those mysteries. - Kedar Joshi (K.J.)

All science is either mathematics ( characterised by utmost certainty, in case of pure mathematics, and precision ) or philosophy ( lacking what maths essentially has ). - K.J. ( Inventor of Conmathematics : Conceptual Mathematics)

To be is to be intelligent. To be is to be a machine. To be is to be non - spatial. To be real is to be physical / material. All machines understand. However, only non - spatial machines understand concepts. - K.J.

Superultramodern science begins where ultramodern science stops (the prefix ’super’ means above/beyond). In physics, its basic principle is that reality is non - spatial. At its heart is the NSTP theory which unifies many apparently diverse phenomena and solves most of the most challenging problems in modern science. - K.J.

Twelve Principles for Developing Positive Relationships

Establishing meaningful, loving, supportive, and cooperative relationships is not difficult to do. Like anything else worthwhile, it warrants our attention to details, mainly our concern for our colleagues.

To set you on the right road of redefining your relationships, in helping you to make yours more positive, here are 12 principles of human behavior to consider:

1. Building positive relationships is like building a house; it takes time and patience.

2. Applying the Christian principle of agape, brotherly love, allows others to become more responsible and more capable.

3. Because agape is based on equality and mutual respect, it permits people to make choices.

4. Every human behavior has a social purpose. When people misbehave, they do so because they are pursuing their goal of attention, revenge, power, or manipulation.

5. Changing your negative behavior can most effectively influence the negative behavior of others.

6. Because your positive relationships are influenced by your positive actions, show appreciation for the positive behavior in others.

7. Because it usually takes two to tango, withdraw from conditions that can easily lead to power struggles.

8. Because retaliation stimulates further revenge, avoid retaliating with revengeful people. Instead, express goodwill. You’ll improve the quality of the relationship.

9. Instead of finding faults in others, focus on their assets and strengths.

10. Showing confidence in your loved one will help him or her develop self-confidence.

11. Because a manipulator lacks self-confidence, focus on his or her past legitimate successes.

12. Because a bossy person is difficult to speak to, communicate with this person through your loving actions.

Remember: When you maximize your potential, everyone wins. When you don’t, we all lose.

Thumb Drives - Great New Technology!

The ability to easily move data from PC to PC with minimal inconvenience is just another benefit computers have brought to the current business world.

Over the past few years, the different options to save and move data have multiplied dramatically. Usually the floppy disk (with it’s 1.2 MB limitation), ZIP drives, CD-R’s & CD-RW’s, and even tape backups are the common ways to move data on non-networked PC’s.

The latest innovation, the USB Removable Flash Memory (Thumb Drive, Key Drive, Flash Drive, USB Drive, Micro Drive) brings a whole new meaning to easy transport of data. These USB compliant devices are small enough to fit on a key ring or carry in your shirt pocket.

As a way to protect sensitive information, the security of one of these drives can’t be beat. It’s in your pocket!

Their size belies a huge data storage volume; the current sizes start at 16MB and go up to 1GB. The pricing on these devices is steadily falling, making the purchase of one of these handy drives almost a must have item.

Check out the accessories at your local computer store or go online to get a really good deal.

For very little cost you can now conveniently move data between PC’s just as easily as accessing the data on your internal hard drive.

The FIRST FAMILY of the United States

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:55 pm by admin

The Randolphs:

Peyton Randolph was the first President of the United States and he is a nobleman. I know he is closely connected with the Hapsburgs who lived near the Randolphs and later the Duponts. At the time of Lincoln Paschal Beverly Randolph was a member of the Rosicrucian Council of Three which included Abraham Lincoln. Through this unholy Holy Alliance between secretive parties in England, America and the Church we have the genesis of the New World Order which was in point of fact not really new at all. It was a further empowerment of the nobility or Divine Kings and Popes even though it appeared nations were ‘for the people, by the people’ in the media (including the pulpits and educational rostrums) that these noble or Merovingian BEES owned. It amuses me greatly to see the sort of academic scholarship that can deny these facts which I am absolutely certain about. Paschal Beverly Randolph was the person who became the leading occultist of this family in America and he is part of a ghastly lineage through occult ritual practices which include soul-grabbing the likes of Crowley and Levi. He proudly states his connection of this sort with Eliphas Levi (AKA Abbé Constant) in his own words so it takes no great research or intuition to prove the point.

When the famous Rights of Man pamphlet written by secret agent Thomas Paine in England was being printed in America we had another Randolph who got involved. Here is his letter recollecting the issue, written the day before the July fourth holiday in 1791, from the Jeffersonian archives that I hope you enjoy.

“The President is not yet arrived, but we expect him the day after tomorrow. He has probably protracted his journey so as to avoid the ceremonies of to-morrow. We expect daily to hear the events of the expedition under General Scott into the Indian country. Perhaps you will hear it sooner than we shall. Having nothing to communicate in the line of public news I will state something personal. You will observe by the enclosed and preceding papers that I am mentioned on the subject of Paine’s pamphlet on the Rights of Man; and you will have seen a note of mine prefixed to that pamphlet whence it has been inferred that I furnished the pamphlet to the printer and procured its publication. This is not true. The fact was this: Mr. Beckley had the only copy of that pamphlet in town. He lent it to Mr. Madison, who lent it to me under the injunction to return it to Mr. Beckley within the day. Beckley came for it before I had finished reading it and desired as soon as I had done I would send it to a Mr. Jonathan B. Smith whose brother was to reprint it. Being an utter stranger to Mr. J. B. Smith I explained to him in a note that I sent the pamphlet to him by order of Mr. Beckley, and to take off somewhat of the dryness of the note I added that I was glad to find it was to he reprinted here, etc., as you have seen in the printed note. I thought so little of this note that I did not even retain a copy of it; and without the least information or suspicion that it would be published, out it comes the next week at the head of the pamphlet. I knew immediately that it would give displeasure to some gentlemen just by the chair of government who were in sentiment with Burke and as much opposed to the sentiments of Paine.

I could not disavow my note, because I had written it. I could not disavow my approbation of the pamphlet, because I was fully in sentiment with it, and it would have been trifling to have disavowed merely the publication of the note approving at the same time of the pamphlet. I determined, therefore, to be utterly silent except so far as verbal explanations could be made.” (6)

The Benefits of Emotional Intelligence

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:50 pm by admin

While we all, at some level, understand that we’re motivated by pain and pleasure, it’s amazing how we can learn, especially in our Western culture, to ignore the concomitant fact that moving toward pleasure makes us feel good, and is good for our health, while moving toward pain does the opposite.

Yes, “no pain no gain” has its place. It fits for cognitive learning experiences, like struggling to learn a new language, or new theory; and physical endeavors, like weight lifting and increasing your ability to jog, but when it comes to emotional experiences, we don’t benefit from the negative. It takes a tremendous toll.

One of the immediate goals of emotional intelligence is to increase your self-awareness. Not to the point where you spend all your time analyzing yourself and looking inward, but enough so you can assess quickly your emotional states, and, more importantly, the cost they have for you.

WHAT DO YOU FEEL?

At the rudimentary level, you can learn by asking yourself several times a day, “How am I feeling?” Don’t answer it superficially, but rather at the level of how you’re feeling physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. In this way, you can learn the physiological signals to your own emotions. For instance, I have talked with people who didn’t realize their stomach was “in knots” because it always had been, and that’s the way they thought it should be. Or you may not connect that sudden pain in your neck with the proper antecedent. I remember driving back to town with a friend after a weekend away, and as we got closer to home, she started talking about her boyfriend, and not in very positive ways. As she did, she started stroking, twisting and ‘cracking’ her neck, which was evidently getting tighter due to the fact that her boyfriend was sounding to me, at any rate, like the proverbial “pain in the neck,” though she wasn’t aware of it until I put the two together for her. Up to that point in the trip she had been pain-free. This is not a good sign re: the relationship!

WHERE DO YOU FEEL IT?

When you begin to recognize the physical signs quickly, you can do what it takes to protect yourself. We say that certain people “drain us,” and this means drain important energy we could be using elsewhere to better advantage.

WHY DO YOU FEEL IT?

The next step is to ask yourself WHY you feel that way. Emotions are often complex and when you learn to sort through them, you find that some variables that contribute to them can be changed or avoided, such as being too hot, or too lonely; but that in other cases, there’s nothing you can change, such as a person or situation that continually drains your energy. No matter how else you’re feeling, even if you’re completely rested and feeling great, you find this person or situation always has the same result. In that case, if the toll is high, and you pay the price every time, the wise choice would be to eliminate this situation or person.

In this way you can identify which situation and people bring you pleasure, and which bring you pain, and make wise decisions.

In the case of my friend in the car, she might have had that experience also if her boyfriend were currently facing a bypass or cataract surgery. You need to be able to sort out what’s causing what. Is it pain about someone you love, or is someone you love causing you pain?

This is important because being able to experience and process a negative emotion gives you more confidence in your ability to manage them. The better you understand what’s going on, the more you realize you have a choice. If you study how to process a certain negative emotion, such as anger, you’ll come to know your trigger-points, and your patterns of response that aren’t productive. These you can always change. You can also choose which things are worth the energy it takes, and the physical stress toll it takes, to get angry.

Understanding your ability to change things gives you personal power. You always have a choice. You have the option to avoid things that make you angry, to avoid criticizing yourself when you do feel angry, to learn how to calm yourself more quickly, to change how you respond when you get angry - both internally and externally - and to eliminate people who constantly make you angry.

The more you learn about emotions in general, and yours in particular, the more options you have. You will become less puzzled in the grip of an emotion, less rigid in your responses, and better able to think and respond (or not) rather than feel and react mindlessly. This makes you a full and complex human being, not an input-opereation-output machine.

We generally acquire more emotional intelligence throughout our lifetime, but it’s not a given if you aren’t processing and becoming aware. If you find yourself swamped by the same things over and over, take a look at what’s going on, do some reading, and work with a coach. If a certain situation always triggers a reaction from you that gets you in trouble, understand this is something you can change. You can learn to bring about a different outcome. After all, not everyone who gets angry hits someone, gets hot under the collar, shouts, becomes passively defiant, or sings a happy tune. Of all the responses out there that are possible, you can learn to choose the best one for you at the time.
